Removals in Rotherham
Appleyards Removals was established in the late 1800's in Conisbrough by the great, great grandfather of the current directors, Harry and John Appleyard who took over the business in 1976.
In 1981 we built the first purpose built warehouse in Rotherham and subsequently developed our self storage and document storage sections thereafter.
In the same year we were asked to join Britannia Movers International, making us one of the first of the forty-one current members of the Britannia co-operative.

We now have the 4th & 5th generation of family involved with the firm.
We are very quality orientated therefore your move and recommendation means everything to us and you will often find us working out of hours to make sure your move goes completely to plan.
Sunday family dinners are more like company board meetings and any holidays we take are much the same.
All the current Appleyard family have learnt the ropes from the ground upwards. Harry and John in their younger days did the first moves to Europe along with some very loyal and dedicated staff.
Harry is now the surveyor and the move co-coordinator for UK and European moves and John is the surveyor for UK and overseas. This means they have a feel for your removal right from the start. The crews today are mainly 2nd & 3rd generation removal men.

charlotte southcott5 StarLovely company. Helped every step of the way with our furniture move to Normandy in France. Reasonably priced and the customer service was amazing. The blokes who offloaded our furniture in France could not have been more helpful or lovely.
When moving is stressful anyway choosing a good firm is important and I spent a long time looking for the right firm. We're definitely happy we chose Britannia to help us with our move!Wednesday 20th April 2022

Katie Broadbent1 StarUpon booking this company we were assured on more than one occasion that our full house would fit into the size of vehicle that they quoted, when the guys came to do the move they were slow and dragged their heels and kept stopping to make phone calls, after pushing to find out what the problem was we were finally told we were under quoted and were pressured into paying an additional £300 over the phone to the office to ensure the move could carry on and make sure all our belongings were taken - I will add at this point that it’s not even that they didn’t send a big enough van they were just unwilling to fill it without additional payment - we were then later asked if we would allow them to deliver our essentials then bring back the remaining belongings some 4 days later so they didn’t have to work until 9pm, to which we did refuse as without the 5 hours of slow loading this wouldn’t have been an issue, this being said they were done by 5:30pm! They as a company added a lot of stress onto our move which was completely avoidable and unacceptable! We were recommended their services through another moving company as it was an international move. From the first phone call all the way through to the end, we were really happy with their services. They are on the ball, kept us to date throughout, managed to work with the moving dates we wanted and were really lovely to work with. Everything went smoothly with the move, we received our things earlier than expected as they were so efficient and all the customs clearings went well and quickly.
