I am a student studying at Huddersfield University and needed storage during the summer months. Excel Self storage gave me a student discount and even collected my items for me. It was all made very easy for me and the price was great too. Thank you to all of the staff. My break has been made all the more enjoyable.
We have been recommending Excel Self Storage to our customers for a number of years now as the feedback we have received has been second to none. The staff at Excel self Storage tailors a storage package to each individual customer and provides the most competitive prices within the Kirklees area.
I've been using Excel Storage for 18 months now, to store my supplies for work. I was careful to look around when I was deciding which storage company to use, needing value for money, yet a comprehensive service. I take deliveries once a month and the staff even sign for them and put them in my unit. They are always extremely pleasant, and go out of their way to provide a flexible, professional service.
I previously stored our items at one of Excel's competitors but there billing cycle was confusing as it was on a PCM basis, Excel bill every four weeks, this gave me confidence in knowing that we were not being charged incorrectly as the cost was always the same. Also Excel's prices were almost half the cost of what we had been previously paying. We haven't looked back since we changed storage facilities.

Cameron Aka5 StarExcel storage is priced around the middle mark for storage in the Huddersfield area. But that you get for the money is perfect. Not as run down as the cheaper storage in the area.
Everything is clean and working as it should. Staff are friendly, has trolleys for moving your boxes and packing supplies available. My old storage was absolutely run down, spiders everywhere in the storage. Not so much as a cobweb near my unit right now.
Overall extremely impressed with excel so far.Monday 17th January 2022
Nat Fleetwood1 StarDon't expect your items to stay dry!!!!
Excel Storage have 3 requirements in their duty as a storage facility (storing your items, keeping them safe and keeping them dry). It is the DRY aspect they have clearly and monumentally failed at!!! They have an old mill with a wooden roof. Clearly they have zero maintenance regimes as they have ruined over £3000 worth of my items after I have stored them with Excel Storage Huddersfield and came to move my items to find they were sodden with water and mouldy. Not only this, but I after I discovered this and immediately informed them, I was then chased for immediate payment of the lock up and have had to pay for the storage of my ruined items throughout the insurance investigation and ever since. Not only this, I haven't received so much as an apology from them, the lack of empathy is astounding. I was then told by Scott, the so called Manager, that they hadn't ruined my items, but Mother Nature had ruined them. Wake up call Scott - you have ONE job, which is to keep peoples items DRY. It is the complete lack of maintenance or apparent care which ruined my items. The insurance claim has not paid the full amount I paid for my items, so not only am I down on that money, I have been charged for storing items they have ruined!!!! So far I have lost £1750 by storing my items with Excel Storage. I CANNOT express how disgraced and appalled I am with how this Company and Management team have dealt with this situation.

Jessica Cullen3 StarStorage is good and it is dry. Lift works. Toilet which is handy. Plenty of parking. Near the town centre.
Opening times could be a bit better to cater for people who work full time ie earlier opening times or later closing times, even just an hour either way would help a lot of people with flexibility.
Road down the side of the canal is an absolute disgrace, potholes are terrible and would not recommend taking anything smaller than a golf down there as youll have serious suspension issues or damaged tyres - this is the responsibility of all businesses though not just excel. We have mentioned it to excel and I have reported it to the council as its dangerous. The potholes are the size of basketballs.Tuesday 25th May 2021
